Facts:

Palestine’s geographical location was split between the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea and the Jordan River. Wadi was also found in Palestine which was “a valley, ravine, or channel that is dry except in the rainy season.”

Southern Palestine was referred to: “Palashtu, Pilistu, and Peleset”.

A VERY long time ago in 4000-3200 BC –-> Palestine exported copper to Egypt. Also, pots used for olive oil and wine holders were found and delivered.

Al-Majdal (‘Asqalan’) → the ancient Philistine city

Tiberias (the capital of Galilee) was known for its silk industry

Defining common words:

“Sha’b Filastin” means the people of Palestine.

“Dirham” in arab means silver coins
-
“Monotheism” is an adjective often described to designate the believers of only one God.

“Tantamount” means to be equal in context of, or being alike to.

“Cartography” is the landscape or atmosphere referring to science that is shown in 2D… such as a map
-
“Metropolis” meant the capital cities in Palestine.

“Suq” is the word for an arab marketplace; a bazaar
-
“Dinar” is the word that means gold
-
“Sufi” means being in relation with God
The atmosphere:

semi-arid= having close to no rain yet still only some light amount
-
arid= having no rain and definitely not enough to allow crops to plenish
-
barren= bland and dying that can not support the growth of vegetation
